replaced the timing belt on a 1.0 litre, and set the timing as per 1.3..
that being cyl 1 tdc, set cam/dizzy to number one, reassemble..pretty standard right?!?

Got home and thought id double check with both the outers mob and also see what the haynes  had to say.. yet to check the FSM..

but in short the haynes says to go by cyl 4 at TDC?? is this odd or what?? Anyone with 1.0 litre experiance chime in and give shed some more light on what one to follow!?? workin with minimal tools, dont even have a plug spanner.. just a 17mm socket n ratchet, 10mm ringy and 12mm open ender :( SERIOUSLY LACKING IN TOOLS I KNOW :(

Well that does complicate matters then! Most cars I've done you set cyl 1 to tdc but ifthe manual says to set it at cyl 4 then I'd be inclined to follow it's instructions!

I reread it and the nbr 4 cyl was for the dizzy reinstallation?...

the pic MIGHT help, see the SLIGHT mark nearest the alignment arrow.. thats where it aligns best to the nbr 1 cyl at tdc, and nbr 1 onthe dizzy...
