anyone know of a successful way to fix leak in diesel tank

hi,

My 80 series has sprung a leak behind one of the unused brackets near the top of the main tank, only leaks when its full and when 4wdriving. If i can find a 100% success of fixing it i will if not i'll pull it out.

any ideas?

quicksteel should do it just hit it with a grinding wheel to roughen it up a bit first.
i dont it on my radiator and that hasnt leaked and its constantly under pressure unlike a fuel tank

is it a standard size tank? If so, surely they would be dolllar a dozen? Get another one and fit it up...

Dont grind it lol. JB weld has a fuel-tank fixer sealant/putty, but any decent metal putty thats fuel resistant should be OK.

I have used that resin type fix it before, and was still holding when I pulled the tank out. Got it from autobahn

Had great success with DevCon, usually get it from speciality plumbers shops.

Preparation is the key. There are still a few of my tanks still floating out there with....
