gday - if ive missed something about this during my search feel free to post a link (me and the outers seach dont seem to get on very well)

i have been looking into fitting a diesel gas system of some description to my TD42 GQ patrol wagon. I am interested to hear the good and bad experiences that people have had with particular systems.

Have gotten quotes in the past 6months
TorqueGas - $3950
DieselGas Technologies - $4900

Apparently the government will give back $1750.

Any information, fuel consumptions, or opinions etc is greatly appreciated.

cheers

From this year on gas will increase in price till 2015 where it'll be the same price as unleaded fuel.

So in the long run may cost you more seeing as diesel has in general been cheaper, In QLD metro at least.

I went with the diesel gas tech kit and so far so good. A big difference in power. Not sure on economy as I towed a trailer on my last trip. Kit seems well built, good quality deutsch water proof plugs, strong mounting brackets etc.

at home we have a td4.2 on gas done by diesel gas australia.
the difference is awsome.
heap more power and a big difference in feul eccomony
we tow a 3 tonne float with it and it feels like its not even there,
worth every cent, espically with the gas rebate from the goverment
the job is well done by dgas as well

im running a D-gas kit.

none of the systems are particularly perfect in their metering and its all just a bunch of guesswork.

the low down torque with the d-gas is awesome.

i already had the tank, mounted it myself, got the lines run and bought the kit, and still had some change out of the 2000 rebate.

but unless your friendly with some gas people, and are particularly nifty i wouldnt do it yourself, theres a bit of stuffing around.

a number of people have complained about the d-gas setup, but i quite like it.

accept its going to keep flowing gas when you shut the throttle when your running boost, ie booting it up a hill, then clutching in to brake for a corner, the revs will stay up as the boost is maintained for a few seconds. but you get used to this and can just flick it off just before you stop accelerating

power is much higher with the gas, last run was over 25% and i would say more now i have more boost on board. and the torque is even better.

how well the motor will last? anyones guess.
i havnt had an issue and its been on for about 30K now i guess.
