I have fitted my coolant/engine temp gauge now and need to know what is normal for the temp. It seems to be sitting between 65 and 70deg C or 160 and 70deg F.
This is a digital gauge and its on a 2000 GU 4.2 TD.

cheers.

Yeah seems about spot onto what mine is.

Mine sits on 160F jumps up to 180F on the big hills on warmer days. Think I need my rad cleaned out but.

On cooler days it will will drop down to 150F.

Was the gauge easy to fit? I am interested in fitting one and what it cost, and seeing as you have done it, I'll rack your brain. Thanks

my gu td42t that is in my gq, runs about 79c to 85c on average. Thermostat on this engine opens at 84 and is fully open at 95. the most i have ever seen mine go is 110c on a 38 degree day on stockton beach giving heaps to see how hot it got. When i did the conversion i couldn fit the 4.2 radiator in so it is running through the 2.8 rad. my digital gauge cost 90 bucks and piece of piss to fit

Was real easy to fit but needed to retap the hole to NPT.
the gauge is digital and got it from the states, about $100.00 with prob.
I wanted to keep the gauges the same as the ones I already had.
