We all know that the old airfilter on the ferozas are restrictive and using a pod filter is not advisable when you go in the dirt as much as i do.
The question is what can i do to improve air flow to the engine without letting dirt thru?

Im running a Renault 17/Fuego ( et el ) cleaner on mine....
Once you take the huge air entry off it its quite suitable with a 2.5" inlet and side outlet thats pretty easy to plumb to the stock black box using the stock Renault discharge hose and some flexible duct.
Originally ran an oiled foam pod cleaner on the front of the Renault one and it drew air from behind the headlight - the combination worked very well, with the oiled foam pod catching all the large crud and much of the dust and the paper cleaner doing the cleanup ( and lasting heaps longer as well ).
I'm now running my AirFlow snorkel into it through the guard and that was dead easy also. Oiled foam sock cleaner at the "Ram Head" as a pre cleaner.
Did it make any difference...... who knows BUT the combination has saved a fortune on paper filters and obviously the snorkel helps with the water crossings - which was where the MK1 Renault/Pod wasn't perfect.
The pressure drop ( measured with a manometer ) is now about 20% less than the stock set up and that's with the snorkel on.... so it can't have hurt.
DONT take the black box off.... it helps the mid range torque quite markedly. Obviously the manifold plenum volume is too small.

Thanks Mighty for that. Have you had any experience with MRT rally pod filter? They look like they keep the dirt out as well as give performance
