New Challenger

I had the opportunity to check out the new challenger today.

In theory it should sell pretty well, looks pretty good and specced well.

Beam axle rear end, nice dash setup, factory diff rear diff lock and the new 130kw 2.5 diesel.

It reminded me of my old pajero of something that you could take off road, could see really well over the bonnet and very chunky underneath.

The new challenger seems like a better starting point for setting up for off-road than the new pajero... And cheaper.

Yes it is. Head over to the Pajero Club Forum. They have a sub-forum for the Challenger, and a thread going on using one (press fleet vehicle loaned to the club) in the Victorian High Country. It performed very well.

There's another thread listing magazine reviews etc. too. All in all, it sounds like a very good vehicle. Give it a few months for the aftermarket guys to do their stuff, and I think we'll start to see a few of them around.

I'm wondering if the crawler gears will fit... :D
