stupid question i know, but im looking at some Narva HIDs that claim to be 24v, but does anyone know if they might have a variable voltage balast as ive been told some run from 3-32volts :?

That's entirely reasonable. Are you looking at them physically (i.e. in your hands) or methaphorically (i.e. catalogue/website)?

Don't know for sure, but if they only state '24v' and not '12-24v' or '12-36v' then I'd certainly assume that they are indeed 24 volt operation only.

Variable voltage ballasts *usually* are stated as being '12-24v' or '12-36v'. They definately should, since it is a big positive selling point.

Think Steve sells 24v ballasts. I know Paul (Bright Light Auto Parts) certainly has multi voltage ballasts.

thank Bushy
Narva have just a 12 v or a 24v ballast (at this point they don"t have a 12/24v ballast)
the 12v one works from about 9.5v up to about 14.5 before they shut down and have a startup of 16amps @ 12v and draw about 3.5 amps when hot
the 24v one work from about 19v and go up to about 28v before shuting down and have a startup of 10amps @ 24v and draw about 1.8 amps when hot
we have variable voltage balast that run from about 9v to 28v
to chaek the part number for the 24v ballast is 74185
the 12v is 74184 this is for the 225ultima
let me know what light they are as i have a full parts list for the Narva
