5ltr alternator problem

ive got a 5ltr in a 80series crusier petrol.i had a 85amp alternator in pushing about 12v.i needed more so put a 120amp alternator in but only pushing 13v supose to push 14v .anyone no what might be wrong

It could be a gearing issue - differences in pulley sizes might mean the alternator is spinning slower at idle that it is supposed to.
Does the voltage come up when the engine speed increases?
Where did the 120A alternator come from?

yea the voltage does come up when rev the motot and its brand new from repco with the right pully on it

Right pulley for which application? 80 series cruiser, or the 5 litre donor vehicle?
