ram assist steering

Post by NICK »

working on my steering and am thinking of mounting the ram to the chassis rail so it pushes or pull's the drag link, not to the diff the conventional way.

Is there something i am missing and why cant it be done this way?

it may actually place too much force on the arms without you noticing........you know what happens next!

that was one thing i thought off, the second was if the wheel is bound up it may push the rail out rather than turn the wheel.

Works fine, done it on the Superior comp truck GQ and used it without a single problem for the 2 years of competing.

removed the radiator today and the ram fits in perfect so am running this way. im going to build the mount to pick up on the steering box bolts and hopefully it wont foul on the winch. the other thing is, keeps the ram nice and high so it wont get damaged.
