Engine rebuilder & turbo/supercharging...Gold coast/Bris

Hi,
I've got an NG 90 Pajero, with a 3.0 v6 that needs reconditioning. Just would like to hear of recommendations for engine rebuilders in the Gold Coast/Brisbane region. Also was thinking of having a turbo or supercharger fitted [economically ($) though], so recommendations here would also be appreciated.

Chapmans dyno mitsubishi pajero specialists done heaps turboed and blown

Not knowing too much about the Paj's, is that a model where you could readily drop the bigger V6 into it instead?

A SOHC 24v 3.5 is an easy enough swap and an extra 40Kw is a decent improvement (from 100 to 140)

Almost always the heads are a throw away so add that to the cost of rebuilding.

Surely this is the way to go then. Does the magna version go in? If so it would have to be as cheap as chips.

Well, the first and only quote i've had was from from ABBOTT engineering and was $2000 for a complete rebuild.....

Thats what I was getting at. I would have expected an engine rebuild to cost more than 3k alone..
I rang up a local performance shop and was quoted ~$7000 to fit a turbo. So unless it's a backyard job, i think it's going to be out of my budget....

lol just get a second hand 3.5 and whack it in there. Five hundred bucks and you've got 40% more power.
Or get a 3000GT front cut.

Yeah the power would be nice but don't really like the sound of the 90 degree as much as typical 3.0/3.5 with the 60 degree bank...

It's not the actual fitting i'm referring to but the actual noise of the engine.... Don't like it, at least not as much as the 60 degree engines...

He doesn't want to sacrifice the throbbing sexy rumble of the 3 litre Pajero V6 with the mighty single overhead cam... A two grand turbo will be much better

chapmans would be the go. ive seen there cars in the comps down at cruiser park and they go like the clappers.

The blocks etc on all the 6g7X motors are (well on the outside at least) essentially the same. I am not following the whole 60 vs 90 bit
A DOHC twin toibo 3000Gt donk is the same externally as a paj motor (close enough to bolt in with anciliries swapped over)

Love_mud you are right. They are 60 degrees. If you go to the redbook site:

They say they are V90 but i just pulled out an old copy of Motor magazine and indeed it is a 60 degree bank. I had a sit in one at an auction yard (a couple of months back) that was running, i didn't know why it didn't have that characteristic NG grone, but returned home to find redbook with its spec saying it was a v90, so just assumed this was the reason, but this is obviously not the case.

I did a bit of reading out of curiosity and some of the stuff I read is that you need about 2" of body lift to fit a 3.5 in where a 3.0 was.
The DOHC 3.0 would be nice, 168kW compared to the 105kW SOHC one before it even has a turbo on it.

You can get away with about an inch BL. OR you can massage the floor the main differcenc is the size of the gearbox, with the 3.5 cog swapper being larger
The SOHC 3.5 give up a few KW to the DOHC 3.5, but I found the late motor to be far easier to drive, delivering torque much sooner and it is LPG compatible.
