Hi Guys,
Bent lower arm on the back Left over the weekend, it is only std nissan lower arm, i seem to hit this a bit lately - (getting bolder to take on more challenging stuff), can you recommend, what is the best replacement for strength? ie brands and where to buy?
My Spec's: 88 LWB GQ
2 " lift + 2" body
run 35" MT Claws
Q's:
1) do i replace with Adjustable lower arms, if so recommendations of brands and pricing - ((looking for strength))
2) if replaced with Adjustable's will i need to do upper arm ? or keep std nissan
3) anything else to consider if upgrading
Cheers
Dan

Replacing them with adjustable arms is a good idea, means that if you change the lift at a later stage you can adjust for it.
You can keep the upper arms standard nissan
Alternatively if you are handy with a welder you can cut the standard nissan arms in half and slide them into some pipe where the ID is same or slightly bigger than the OD of the nissan arms. This is what I've done, then weld the ends and also drilled 6 holes down the length of the new pipe and plug welded to the nissan arms.

get on to Mick at superior engineering or shane at suspension stuff for aftermarket down your way. I have had the standard lowers for years but have some angle welded to the bottom for extra strenght.

i run some +16mm lowers...seem to be going fine so far
definately glad i got them as my first trip out with them in a GU snapped one and a GQ bent one...and i was going harder than them lol
mine i picked up for cheap as they were 2nd hand, but there is nothing wrong with them...they are the ones that hobzee sells.
only complaint with them is i would rather put my factory bushes in them instead of the orange ones that are in them now.
i run 2+2 lift on 35's in a lwb gq as well.

I have had the 3rd lowers in for 3-4 years and no more dramas.
I didnt like the idea of adjustable lowers but instead use slightly longer than standard lowers and adjustable uppers.
I dunno i just always thought about hiting the threads and nuts on the adjustable lowers.
My 2 cents.

gday mate.
id definately vouch for the superior ones. Adjustable if you wanted tho standard length would be all that is needed. Would not go +16mm with only a 2" lift tho.
