Howdy,

I'm looking for some good offroading locations that are semi local in SA. I have a regular local one but when i go there i feel like i'm driving to work. there is no thrill in it anymore.

If anyone knows of any can you either post them or pm me to keep it quite. I don't know if the boys in blue monitor this forum.

Cheers

Dave

Howdy all,

Crowey and I went to my local yesterday. There was about 8 other 4WD's down there as well as 3 motor cross bikes. Was all good until Crowey decided he was going to drive up the creek instead of just crossing it. Result: a 3 inch gash in the side wall of his back left tire.

To make things even better the weld on the bottom stud of his spare wheel carrier decided to snap! Anyways we got it off spare tire back on and off we went.

I might have to come for trip down your end of town guys.

I've got another tip for a track too- this time at Willunga.

The quarry at Morgan is supposed to be good too.

Yeah i havent seen dangerous dave for a few years and it was only a last minute thing that we decided to go 4wd yeaterday, although i did a tire it was worth it, next time we go ill try and organise it a bit and see if we can get a few more cars there.

As for Old willunga hill, its not to bad, there is a few tracks, went there a while ago. "widow maker" is a massive hill and as you can tell by the name its got a reputation.

And that link you sent through. Can you cut and paste what that message said cos its a dead link. You must be a member to log on and i am but your link doesnt go directly to a message?!?!
If that makes sense??

So you know this track then Besty??? I was told behind the hotel- so that's the one. There appears to be a bunch of tracks up that way, going by a contour map it's all steep stuff.

Dave and Jarrad- doing much this weekend? I'll come down for a drive and we'll go out exploring. :D

Murcod,

I'm not doing much this weekend. I've got work saturday afternoon which i'm trying to get out of but the rest of the weekend is free. I was hoping to do by body lift this weekend but i'll see how thigs go. If Jarrad goes i'll go!

Dave

Oh yeah i almost for got, i have to spend some time with the other half sometime over the weekend too. :P ! lol

OK Dave. It's a long weekend, so there are three days (plenty of time for the other half  )

Jarrad how about you?

Sunday would be good for me- that way there's Monday for a clean up if things get muddy...... Dave you could do the bodylift Saturday, all ready for Sunday. :D

These tracks- will I get through with standard suspension OK? I don't want to ding the sills in or anything. (I don't mind the bashplate copping a hit, but not the body.)

Murcod, i've never been on the tracks before but i think you'll be alright. I'll probably still have stock suspension too if we end up going so we'll see what its like when we get there.

If it eventuates and you come down this way we will show you the local although it will be pretty crap due to the lack of rain this week.

Dave.

Jarrad are you up for it on sunday?

I finish work at 8am on sunday morning so i am keen to go for a bit of a drive up behind the victory hotel. The tracks from memory are not that good, there are a few slippery mud climbsbut dont worrk murcod your car should be fine!
I am back at work tomorrow so ill reply to the rest of the posts then!

Oh yeah..... yokahama super diggers have changed their tread pattern so it looks like ill be running a BF Goodrich on the back till i get the mud terrains

Yeah i'm up for sunday. may even bring the miss's. What time? Where are we going to meet? Jarred you missed out tonight man. Sheidow was as slippery as sh*t. Had a ball. No near misses though so we weren't trying hard enough.

Ah well see you all Sunday.

Dave and David....... and all others who want to come

Yes i am good to go on sunday.

Since Murcod is from the other side of town and might not be that familiar with the south, lets meet at the BP service station on Main south rd, Ohalloran hill. Its a big servo and its on a service rd so there is a place to pull off the rd and group up.
Murcod ill PM my mobile number to you incase you have any problems

Any ideas on what time is good for everyone?? ill be home from work at about 0830 so anytime after that is good for me.

Yep, you're right about me not knowing the area down your way! :?

The BP servo sounds good, I'm easy as far as a time goes (but don't make it too early as it'll take me a good hour or more to get there....)

Check your Pm's.
