Some time ago I got a lsd centre for a 60 series of evil bay, when I compared the carrier bearings on the open centre from the front diff the internal bearing diameter is a different size to the journal of the lsd centre I have the front open centre cause I put an lsd in there some months back when doing the swivel hubs
The open centre has a bearing no. 17831 measures 80mm od 45mm id the journal it fits to is 45mm, but the lsd centre journal is 50mm . Are the carrier bearings in hj60 diferent sizes front and rear or is their a carrier bearing that will allow me to use this centre . the bore size of both centres where the spline shaft goes are the same 33.7mm, also the pcd of the crown gear is the same any one shed any light on this please andy. looks like I wont be fitting this weekend if at all

I'm not 100% sure but you should be able to get the bearings sounds like ya got an 80 series or around then lsd, as the later diffs have the 50mm id and same od, I think when ya fit lockers to the 60's, they've got the 50mm id bearing to make things stronger..

thanks mick your right i got a set of bearings today the designation for 50mm id 80mm od is 32010JRYA1 this centre is a 60. The front i have is an 80 the difference i found between them was the 80 uses a spring of 40mm long 39mm wide 7mm coil thickness, the 60 uses 40mm long 44mm wide 8.5 coil thickness. Also the 80 uses 2 x thrust 2x clutch one adjuster 5 aside the 60 uses 3 x thrust 3 x clutch one adjuster 7 aside. just tested it this arvo so all is good both wheels spin if i drop a wheelie on the dirt, i know it wont last long but will be doing some serious beach work in next two weeks so should be ok
