Going to fit a Holden 308/355 to a 88-hiline ,
Has anybody done this as Im looking for hints for Exhaust , radiator and choice of fitting either the Holden PWR steer pump/altenator/air-con , or using the Rover stuff .

I had one, it ran the rover p/s pump etc.. it also had extractors, you used to be able to buy these i'm pretty sure. Got a mate who has one aswell, his runs holden p/s pump, rover a/c, has block hugger headers, they fit nice too., With the radiater, i'd either run the bigger disco one or get a custom one, the rover is ok but a little on the small side.

My POS has a 350 in a 74 RRC.

No air con, Bosch alt, standard RRC radiator with genuine fake EL thermos, RRC pwr steering pump on fabricated bracket and some sort of stock (HM?) extractors that have only been clipped on the driver's side to clear the first cross member.

Easier to use a Rover PS pump if using Rover PS because the hoses have weird thread size fittings, i.e. use a Holden pump and you'd have to get hoses made up.

Would use a bigger rad where you are but still with twin thermos.

cheers, DL

purchase holden engine loom

use holden PS pump, alt use RR ac make up new bracket to take alt and ac pump.

alter holden ps pump bracket so as to raise it higher.

Yeah , im going to be using a 1000CFM throttle body and VS/VT 808 ECU. tCant get any real power out of the bananas , the engine allready does better than 300KW , so the VS/VT loom should do nicely with a Tunerpro setup. Just wondering about the engine mounts , will the rover ones be strong enough ?Also I suppose the conversion runs the Holden V8 starter motor ?

use v12 jag engine mounts or QT mounts.

runs holden starter. you have to notch the rover gear box bell housing.

I just sold mine that i built. I used pacemaker block huggers. Fitted well. If you use HT sump its hard to get dip stick in as it comes right under the engine mount so i used a late model BBC one that was flexable and notched the engine mount out for it to fit. Holden and range rover have opposite radiator necks so i got the standard range rover radiator necks swapped and fitted the slightly bigger holden ones. It never ran hot.
