If your vehicle is not already 24v you will need to run a seperate 24v system including a alternator. If it is a daily driver just buy a 12 v winch motor and solonoid to replace the 24v stuff.

Here's a question...... do 24V winches pull half the amps of a similar 12V winch?
So can you get by with a 50A 24v alternator? Or would a higher amp 24v alternator be better?
Assuming you have say 2 x 100A batteries in series to form a 24v bank, do you then have a full 200A available, or only 50A?

You double the volts and halve the amps by what I have been told. So yes a 50 amp 24v alt is fine.

We run a 55 amp bosch 24v alt and it does the job fine in winch challengers.
