Hi all i need to do the rear main oil seal on my mq sd33-t, looking at leaving the engine in just pull out the gearbox.
so how much of a pain is it to change as it looks like i might have to drop the crank abit but i have been told that the seal can be pushed or pulled into place without dropping the crank like in some old holden engines.
any ideas or anybody tryed this before.

Just got around to doing the seal.
Very easy to do, i ended up leaving the gearbox on and just dropping the sump.
old seal came out easy and just used a sneaky pete tool to put new seal in.
so all thats needs to be done now is new oil and filter and should be good to go :D :D :D

dragging up an old post but, if not already done. go buy your self a genuine nissan seal and pull the motor and flip it up side down. it's alot easier then dropping the gearbox.
