I can understand it if you have rolled it, or its rusty or fucked some other reason..
But if theres nothing wrong with it you dont need to keep up with the Jones'.
I've yet to see a tray length in a chop thats of any use for carrying much shit in.
A roof keeps ya shit dry and pricks find it harder to knock off your shit.

also its an mq/mk with the gq gaurds. so it still has the drop down tail gate, which will save some time. just tossing up with the full cut to fit a tray or just like in the pic

if that wagon in the pik is a mq/mk someone already gone to alot of trouble fitting the gq rear wheel arches
depending on wat u really want when its finished will determine wat u do
the extra cab (wagon to ute)im doin at the moment has 500mm behind front doors with either a 1800 mm or 2100 mm alloy tray
but its a happy medium ,more cab space and a smaller tray
the dual cab chops are alot easier to do than the ute conversions
good luck either way

thanks, the rear gaurds arnt actually the gq gaurds just a custom moulded type. they dont look to bad but have the mq tail lights also with the origional back fold down tail gate it just doesnt look right

pritty similar to wat im lookin at doin
but cut straight down from the rear pillar and putting a tray on the back
to the op,
extra cab can have seats in the back,
ford courier and mazda bravo(space cab and freestyle cabs )have extra seating in the cabs(think they are a 4 or 5 seater)
or if the WALLET is huge ,
go a full four door with full length tray (extended chassis)
unfortunately it will all depend on the $$$$$$
