I know this has been done before, I have looked at a lot of posts. I'm after new shocks, springs etc for 92 swb sierra. I'm after 2" lift, seems to be about the norm with possibly a 2" body lift later. I'm running 225 x 75's at the moment probably go to 30" when there worn. I have looked at a lot of options, OME with Rancho 9000's, Cross country springs with Rancho 9000 from Climax suspensions (havn't heard of Cross country, anyone else?), Kings springs what are they like? The OME springs I have seen written about on these forums have been 2.5" lift, I have only been able to find 40mm, is the 2.5" (equivalent to about 60mm or thereabouts) still available? Also looked at the Rockhopper springs from Auto Alliance in Sydney does anybody know anything about these springs?

I have OME's on my 92 swb, and I am very happy with them.
Welcome to the group as well.
Peter.

Peter,
Yeah thanks mate, my first time on a forum, I have been reading a few but havn't been involved. Are your OME springs the 2.5" or the 40mm lift which is the only ones I can find. What shocks are you running.

Someone is going to say it so will get it over and done with. Loose the body lift and just do a SPOA

I am running the "light duty" springs with the standard shocks.
and ignore Sam, His ride on lawn mower is SPOA as well as his missus's Mazda 626

they're good springs tho, flexy if u go for the light/medium ones. chuck extended shackles on and u've got ur 2" lift

Just got this off the QLD Transport site
"Leaf spring suspensions must not be raised by the use of extended shackles."
http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/qt/driv ... ations.pdf
Is this the same in other states?

why don't you look up the SA laws as they will apply to you seeing as you live there not in QLD. QLD is probably the hardest place to do mods

I'm in New South Wales, far south coast. Spoke to Kaos 4 x 4 in A.C.T today he reckons the tough dog 2" springs with Rancho 9000's are a good way to go, he said extended shackles or a body lift need engineers report here in N.S.W. Also spoke to TJM in A.C.T they have a 80mm spring lift which they reckon is a 'comfort' ride and lift!!! Any thoughts or knowledge on these 2 setups.

im having some suspension dramas too but with shocks.
My current shocks are limiting travel as the hit their extended limit. i am unable to drive up onto car rampsif put at opposite wheels without rear wheel lifting off the ground. i have already got 2 inch lifted springs. what is a cheap but good shock to use for lifted springs. part numbers and brand names would be great
