maybe ask Sam from Overkill here on the board as he makes bars. The big thing is not having sharp protrusions, keeping the barwork within the body lines, don't obscure any lights, make the mounting system strong, and if it is on an airbag car pretty much forget about making your own to keep it legal.

i picked up my new tube bar from overkill this morning, i cant wait to start running over pedestrians
as far as i know, you dont even need a bull bar as long as there are no sharp protrusions

nope, i found a beautiful 85 lux (3" lift with 33's) this week but it doesnt have a bullbar on it?!?!?! so i was pricing them up and the boys from work said theyd help me out making one if i designed it. I dont know whether to copy one already on the market or just start from scratch though

i made a nudge bar/driving light holder for my subaru out of 50mm box steel and other bits (ie very square and the edges were sharp) and it passed a rwc the other day.

there are set regulations controlling this dave
goto your local queensland transport office, or the queensland transpoort website, there all sorts of things, no sharp edges, angles and stuff have to be within specification, its actually very well defined, cant think of what they call it off the top of my head.
