Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Greetings All,

1st post on the forum.
Have been reading through the vitara threads. Am whetting my appetite.

I used to own an '83 zook.
Am looking at an lwb vitara (found a low k's ex. below at link) for touring mods i.e. 2" lift, rear locker, etc. etc. $$$ - nothing too hardcore.

I did notice that there are '97 or '98? models around also.

Does anyone know the main differences/improvements in these later year models? And which year would be the better buy?

mate all i know is for that many k's thats a awsome price. it will be mint condition underneath probably as well. older ones have more parts available i know, although some parts will be the same. i think gearbox and diffs are different and stronger from 1994 onwards. correct me if im wrong please someone.
