Should be fine as they are a very strong box

I have one behind my 7.4L chev with a brass button clutch
and 35" tyres and it still lives after plenty of testing so to speak

Robbie Marshall had a colletion of broken gearboxs.
The average TD42 aint going to break one but they are not unbreakable.

rebuilding the gearbox won't make it any less likely to break due to power. the stress from being behind a powerful motor adds up over time so that it's likely to break when put under heaps of stress.

we are talkin manual here right?

my first gear has shit its self i can only take off in second unless i jam it into first while rolling, got a quote to get it fixed and the stooges want approx 2 grand, i run 35's and 20psi in my gq ute and i dont even really give it a hard time.

Stripped the synchros off third gear with a 351c and a mate has done the same with a chev.

Besides that they're very strong boxes

I didnt break mine but would of if I left in much longer. All gears except 4th sounded like a grinder and would pop out of 3rd on decel as well. I have a TD42 with a turbo and 35's so no they're not indestructable. I put a GU box in it about two and a half years ago and it's been fine.
