Anyone bought from Rocky Road Outfitters direct?

Hey guys/girls I'm looking to buy a set of Rocky Road Outfitters 4 inch higher bolt on upper shock mounts for the front of my sierra as the stupid calmini setup keeps snapping bottom shock mounts as the shock is too long even with the bump stop spacers provided (Guess they never expected people to remove a leaf and actually flex it to the stops lol). I've read some bad feedback about Rock Road on Pirate but I wanted to know from any Aussie guys if they've ordered stuff from them before and if there were any dramas?

i have a set of these from them, they took about 3 weeks to show up.
they would be pretty easy to make up, they are just rhs and plate steel

I have bought from them in the past, shipping is not the fastest around but they were good to deal with.

Yeah I expected slow shipping coming from the US, not really in a big hurry it's not the first time I've run on 3 shocks for a while

Shipping from US shouldnt take that long. Ive got some goodies on the way from LowRangeOffroad via DHL, its only taken 3 days for stuff to arrive in melb, should have em on doorstep by monday.

Why would you want to buy a set of mounts like that from the U.S.?
You can make them for about $10 worth of steel and 2 old headbolts and an arc welder. That's what i did anyways

i have to agree, when i seen them i thought i could do the same thing. sold the car before i got a chanced to put them on.

How much higher than stock are they? Do they clear big tyres well? Do they require chopping the gaurd or body lift? And are they bolt on?

Got some goodies today from Lowrange, only took 5 days to get here, less actually i think. Them shock hoops look pretty shmick too.

Yes they clear big tyres, aslong as you aren't using really shit offset wheels.
No they do not require any guard chopping or BL
They are weld on. Plug weld through holes and weld around fish plates. Very strong, self aligning brackets for a great price. Why the phuck anyone would use those other peices of shit I do not know

So you don't need to plate the chassis rails with any extra steel or anything like that? Just weld straight on as they are in the holes and around the plates?

looks to me like you can only mount the hoop style ones shown in the stock/one position, which may be a pain later if your moving your diff forward a fair bit at some stage.
may not be an issue though???

I Run full RUF and its no real issue. I just had to clearance the bump stop mount a little to stop the shockie from hitting when on full compression.

Actually I am off to the states at the end of the month and will be dropping into Provo, UT to see Sean at lowrange, as I will be staying in Salt Lake City for a week.
I'll try and get a tour and some pics of the facilities whilst I am there.

They look better - but they don't look height adjustable when being installed, whereas the Rocky Road set do (sort of)...
GRPABT1 - i reckon you need to be measuring up those shocks to work out what height you really need your towers to be and then build your mounts accordingly. Or you could always put bigger bump stop extensions in there - they are much easlier to fabricate than a shock tower.

Nah I've got very little up travel as it is now haha. I will get new shocks to suit the new mounts anyway, been wanting a set of boss adjustables for the front for ages.
