water damaged td42

bought another td42 tody thats been hydrod, number 4 rod is doglegged as, whats the chances of the crank bein shagged? and the chance of more than 1 bent rod? apart from 4 they all look strait

most likely it should be right. the rods are the weakest link and should bend before any more damage is caused.
are you going to use the motor or just for parts?

if it was me, and I was going to use the engine, I'd remove all rods and have them checked, and have the crank checked. it would suck anus to spend days fitting and find its fuqt.

what bogged said, also get the rods crank ect balanced while your at it.

- i hydro'd lock him a few years ago, No 4 bend hell as.
didnt have the funds and space to pull all apart and check everyting, so i just pulled sump off, head off ,all in the car.
pulled no4 out, cleaned deck/head from crap and put new bearings on no4 only. put back to gether....
Kick 1st go ! and fitted turbo 20000km later, still going strong.
