Are 75 series diff centers the same as 60 series

I have been offered two 75 series 4.1 diff centers cheap for spares. Are they interchangeable with 60 series centers? Will my TJM lockers fit the 75 centers?
Thanks.

Yes as long as they have the same flange bolt pattern for the tailshaft.

Thanks, I was only offered them today, so will check that when I look at them.

You can swap the flange usually. Only older centres with small pinion won't interchange.

i had a hzj75 and i'm pretty sure it was a 9.5 " diff, the only thing i could think of is maybe the 79 series went to a high pinion 8", but i'm not sure on that.

hzj's have the small front diff centre (hi pinion) and i think 1990 was the chage over year for this.
its the older hjs that have the same size as in the rear

the 85 -89 60's and 75s front back all same ,post 1990 7x series front was a bit smaller not as small as 80 series, then in aug 99 when the 7x series got the coil front they went samller again to 80/105 series front diff size

so a 90-99 75 series didn't have the high pinion 8 inch?

The front center in the post 90 75 series is the same size as an 80 series. The only difference is the 80 series runs a 4.10 ratio and the 75 runs a 4.11 ratio. Otherwise they are exactly the same diff centre. the 79 series also runs the same size centre as the post 90 and 80/100 however they went with the 4.10 and the 4.3 centre depending on engine combo.

are the front 75 series diffs (post 1990) reverse cut high pinion as well? or are they low pinion diffs? been a while since i stuck my head under one.

As I said they are exactly the same as the 80 other than ratio which would obviously make them reverse cut high pinion.
I have used every combination of high pinion centres all in the same housing. Post 90 75, post 99 7x, 80 and 100 series. As well as bundera. The bundera, post 90 75 and 80 series use better quality material in the c&p and generally last longer.
