Engine Rebuild

Post by nissannewby »

Hi All
I have a queary about my engine i have a td42 which has seen some water and is running a bit rough. Have proceeded with a compression test on all cylinders and found no. 4 cylinder only has 120psi all the rest have between 400 and 430. So my question is should i rebuild the whole motor or just the one cylinder??

You could have a bent conrod, amongst other things.

Open her up, assess the damage and then decide how much of a rebuild is needed, you might get away with a new conrod and a set of main bearings

How many klms on the whole engine?

As the others said, just take it apart and check it out first..
You more than likely get away with doing the one cyl..
