Front will be fine. I had the same setup on a coilcab but with 14mm spacers. I was running 50mm bump spacers on the front but took them out and changed to 80 series rear inner bump stops. The rear I ran a 80mm bump spacer but it was a ute so no rear fenders as such.

thanks mate, hard to get the 80's series these days,
backs my biggest issue but... rear seat belt bolt has done hell damage to inner walls of tyres.

Even with 8 inches of lift your rear guards will still need cutting, to stop tyre rubbing lower your bump stops.

Both these are running 37s with a 3 inch lift and cut guards.

x3 looks pretty good. I used 33's for years and only went 35's cos they weren't much dearer at the time.
I wouldn't mind trying 37's one day maybe, i've already 1/4 cut my rears and trimmed the front guards and with 4" susp, 40mm b/lift and dropboxes I reckon it'll take 37's, might have to adjust bumpstops.

Best thing about Sims photo's is that the lift is only 3" with trimmed guards

All those wanting or thinking they need 6" lift take note :D

bloody awsome SWB's , they look tuff as, unreal flex too.
wonder if ya can get away with a 3" on a LWB but, just tryed it on rear of mine, and it looked like a dubbed wrx on 20's
was rubbing on the factory rear seat belt bolt already

how do u go with the inner of the guards front and rear.???

r u those patrols just running like -44 ish off set rims and the garden edgeing flares and longer bumbstops to prevent upward travel to foul on the inner guards? & cut outer gaurds?

On my old LWB i used to run 37s on a 6" spring lift, looked awesome and flexed like crazy, but still needed to trim back half of rear wheel arches, and ever so minor trimming of the sides of the bull bar on the front... other than that nothing was touched, just had the right offset and some custom flares....

Then after about 18months and too many scares in hairy situations from being so unstable, i threw out the 6" springs and just used a set of 2" Old Man Emu springs with a 1" spacer on top to give me a 3" lift but with limited up travel compared to 3" springs.

Nothing more was done to the rear end, however on the front i needed to remove inner wheel arch lining and trim ever so slightly more off the bull bar and about a quarter inch off the gaurd just about it...

Phenomonally stable in both slow and serious off camber as well as flat out fast going as well, could confidently drift it around corners as fast as i liked and never raised a sweat....

you DO NOT NEED any more than a 4" lift MAX to run 37's unless you just want "the look".... have a look at any winch challenge event, they all run 2 to 4" lifts quite succesfully... any higher and its purely poser and you WILL have your arse puckered up in some hairy situation COMPLETELY regretting the height of your truck...

High lifts are a thing of the past, you will regret 6" spring and 2" body

ive had 6" + 2" in with 35" for over 2yrs and do plenty of hard stuff, no touring really, 6 stage at yalwal would be one off many if ya know it?
have been down 45dec hills with the ass end sliding then drop off 40dec at mate property with no worries.

really wanted to see any pics of already cut LWB GQ panels before i hack mine.. and see what size bump stop they might have,

Cheers guys :D :D :D

I run 80mm rear bump spacers on the girls car, have only had 35's on it so far. I may try the 37's on it after the power up. It has a 1/4 cut too and I'm pretty confident it will clear fine.

You need to work out own bump stop measurements as no two rigs have the same setup there are to many variables. Someone else's measurement might be to short and you will have rubbing issues and if they are too long you will have lost up travel.

I've got it set so the side wall of the tyre just touches the chassis rail without wheel spaces.

Did you try the same hill going across it?

Big lifts are fine going straight up and down hills, or over washout on flat ground, throw in a serious side slope, and you will wish that you didnt have that waaay oversized lift in.

I had 5" lift and 35's on my GU, took the 5" out, went back to 2" and put 35's on the biggest offset rims i could get for stability!

This was after one very scary day in the wet on some decent hills, and it was then that i finally clicked that i had too much lift, and not enough width. (Flexed awesome though, below was with the 33" road tyres on, it wasnt even close to lifting a wheel here)

Image

Ive got no photos of it flexing with the 35's on this computer, but looking at the pictures below you can tell how high it was with the 35's on it, and how unstable on any sort of decent side slope.
