I have just noticed a squeal in the front of my TJ. I have had a quick look, but so far havn't found the problem. THe sound appears to be comming from the front right (it's not the brakes). It kinda sounds like when a uni in the drive shaft is on it's way out. It only squeels at over 40klm/h, which makes it hard to track down. Has anyone else had this problem????? Any Idea's??????

It certainly sounds like the front drive shaft uni, unless you've had a WARN conversion up the front.

It is almost certainly the double cardan joint on your front driveshaft. She has mud inside and needs an overhaul....Can dig up some info on how too if you need it - but I'd lay money on that being your problem - it's very common.

I have the same problem right now and its definitely the front double carden. Spray a heap of WD40 in there and see if it makes it better or worse - at least you know you have found it. Orginally I planned to get new greasable unis but have decided it the centre part of the double carden which needs greese (according to the FSM this is greasable).
