GQ tb42 or tb42e?

Guys, am looking at buying another GQ for the wife (i already have a td42 one)

She wants something to fit kids and associated stuff in - sometimes more than 5, and also somtimes a dog or two - hence a gq as she's been driving mine lately and is happy with it, she would like a bit more power and maybe an auto tho. - A turbo td42 isn't really in my budget as i wanna turbo mine first.

Anyway, have been looking at both 4.2 petrols, running dual fuel,
The question i have is, if you had to choose between 2 GQ's similar spec and condition, a carby model with 180-200k and an EFI model with 300k which one would you choose, bearing in mind they would be predominantly run on LPG.

From what i've read the efi heads were less likely to crack, efi motor has electronic ignition - i suppose the ignition would really be the main advantage when running on lpg as the efi would be dormant - and perhaps the intake manifold design??

Thanks for any comments

does she really need a 4wd? Wouldnt she be better off with a people mover etc? much better on road and more comfortable, cheaper to run/maintain.

hey mate i have a tb42e on petrol and it did a head just before i brought it... at 200 thou km...

father in laws tb42 on dual fuel head went at 330 thou km.. both auto..

i would say efi or not no difference.. both alloy heads..

good oil. good coolant.. good clutch fan. and good radiator...

maybe a after market water temp gauge to make sure the water temp doesnt go over 105-110 deg cel.

economy wise carbi on gas use on average 20-25L/100km closer to 20 on high way... as i use 13L/100km on highway with petrol..(EFI)

my 89 dual fuel tb42 has 375000kms on it and engine has never been opened up. Only problem is the ignition system in standard format is a bit weak for gas. Ill go electronic one day.
