Fiberglass Windscreen problem

Hello I have a japanese import BJ 73 Landcruiser. When i bought the car the front metal windscreen surround was rusted rotten. I went out and purchased an FRP fiberglass surround which at the time i was told by everyone was the way to go. However after sanding off the gel coat, painting the surround and fitting it to the car, I had a glass installer come over to fit the windscreen. The glass cracked and the guy said that it does some times happen. After calling around to a lot of glass fitting businesses many people have told me they wont touch it because they think the fiberglass lip is to thick does anyone know who i could call? i live in greenslopes in the city and the car is not yet registered?
