hi i have a pretty good hj60 g pack wagon, its just been rust proofed and all the underbody has been done but im worried the chassis may rust out over time.
i live in the country and the car hasnt been on the beach at all but i do plan on taking it quite reguarly starting in around a month.is there anything i should do the inside the chassis like put some sump oil etc in it?also what is the best way to clean the chassis out after a trip on the beach, can it be done with a hose/gerni etc?
thanks for your advise :)

Chassis will be one of the last places your 60 will rust. Just stick a hose down it and make sure the holes in the bottom are clear so the salty water/sand drains out. And just a general wash down at the car wash or with the hose.

More importantly is the rear wheel arches and rear quarter panels the sand/salt gets flicked up by the rear tyres and gets above the fuel tank so give the wheel wells and guards a good wash down. Pull the bungs out of the rear quarters and and stick the hose in behind the cards and let it drain out the bottom.

60's always rust out in the roof, wash down with fresh water but no fix for that one.

Otherwise it's the same as any car, stay out of the wet stuff and wash everything thoroughly.

On my third 60 atm even the first which I used to reverse into the surf up to the taillights had no signs of rust in the chassis. Body - different story.

thanks for the advise, yes i have seen alot of 60 series wagons rust in the roof, mine had none and when it was rust proffed i made sure the hoodling came out and holes were drilled from the inside into the roof section and it was drowned with rust proff in there :)
