Confirm fix for squeaking 80 series rear ambulance doors?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum, live in Costa Rica and have a 1994 FZJ80 with rear ambulance doors. I read on the FAQ that the solution for the rear ambulance doors squeaking is to buy a new upper latch and catch for the larger rear door (parts 69350-60061 and 69470-60010). The dealer here says they are no longer available, but I sourced these online myself through Sydney City Toyota.

Before I go ahead with the order, I was hoping I could get someone to confirm that yes, these parts did indeed get rid of the squeaking from the rear doors.

Anyone?

Regards,
Jason

have you tried adjusting the catch. also a bit of silicon lube on the rubbers stops them squiking for a while.

Hi,

I did adjust the catch and it would stop the squeaking for about a day.
Silicon lube I haven't been able to locate. Where would I buy it?

Thanks,
Jason

Hi again,

Just to be clear, I would really like a mechanical fix if possible, so still looking for confirmation that by replacing these parts, the squeaks can be eliminated.

Thanks,
Jason

most off them did it within about 10,000ks of delivery new latches will fix it not for long though. should be able to get lube from parts shop.also a little bit of white grease on locks and strickers helps the rattles.

New updated latch will help solve most of the annoying squeaking problems but they may come back in summer or really hot days so not a guaranteed fix but hell of a lot better.
In the end I purchased all new rubber which made minimal difference.

Some lube on the catches and silicon spray on the rubbers is a regular cheap fix as mentioned and keep checking adjustment of barn doors.

Go ahead and purchase the new latch because the older ones get to a point of insanity!

Have fun.
