crazy!

If i wasnt lazy i'd search pyrolisis to find out the exact cause... interesting it doesnt happen with burnouts etc.

In burn outs the heat application is external on the tyre, and disipated to the atmosphere and road surface.

The video is specific on heat application to very conductive rims, with a closed environment, but with available fuel, oxygen and a heat source, that then causes a temperature rise internally that can start a pyrolosis/combustion process of the internal materials of the tyre, which are different to the rubber material of the tread/external carcas.
