this all depends on suspention set up and rim size and steering

it will cause you lots of dramas
i run 35 13.5 15 on 15x10 rims on a fj40 and its a lot of work to get them sorted also with out desent power steering it will be a wrestle to steer it

More pressure on wheel bearings etc. Will probably have to change your offset and possibly go to a wider rim too.

IMO not worth it in the slightest. Too much work for any tangible advantage and arguably a disadvantage depending on what you wheel. That is only an opinion though. I'd just go 35x12.5s.

I was meaning they might be cheap because they bought a few sets and noone wants them, so there flogging them off for cost etc.

15.5s look pretty tough.
i used to have 35x13.5s on my 40 they looked very tidy! standard diffs no problems.

cant really compare it to now, as i have 80 diffs so its wider to begin with. but the 42x15.5s dont look too shabby.

p.s your a sicko if you like armstrong steering. its the devil!

I AM THE DEVIL

i think i will just stick with 35x12.5 for now just to stay on the save side, also for legal reasons, how much did it cost you to swap to 80's diffs?

If you are worried about running legal tyres, you should probably check if 35x12.5 are legal, as they are most probably not legal in Qld anyway.

That as well as your extended shackles you mentioned earlier are also not legal.

Why bother trying to be legal if you're not going to go the whole hog?

ive been driving round for 3 months in a stock FJ40 with 36x15.5 on 15x12 rims. no lift no nothing.... jsut some rear guard trimming :)

it rubs at the same degree of steering as the 35x12.5s did so i actualy didnt loose any turning circle.

its a low fat and wide on road 40.

so 33's should be sweet.
