Outer Limits 4x4 Board

My 1983 MQ diesel patrol is currently not starting. The engine cranks slowly when i go to start it but it will not kick over. This all started happening a week ago when i was going through a water crossing. While i was driving my car just stopped. It was as if the key had just been turned off. From then on it would not start. I have considered water in the engine, but so far nothing has pointed towards that and the water i was going through was only just above my tyres, i had been doing deeper all day. Has anybody experienced anything similar? Any idea's on things i could do/check?

Disconnect linkage from EDIC motor on injection pump, so that the lever is verticaly(it's run position, towards front of the car it's start). Give current for 10-15 seconds to the glowplugs, and then quickly try to start it.

can anybody give some directions for how to do that?

pull the starter motor out and strip it down and clean out the gunk.....

or get it serviced profesionaly
