Am looking at UPdating soon to 93 model Patrol/cruiser Diesel, I do not like the ALLWHEEL DRIVE option on the cruisers, the reason, i am presuming there will be two many moving bits in the drive line that will stuff up in the long run, and fuel aconomy, being the drag of pushing all wheels around. I have seen in 4WD Monthly a 97" cruiser with free wheelin hubs. What mods are necesary to the transfer case etc. to enable a Cruiser to run rear wheel drive when traveling on the road and is it super expensive. Also how many of the enthusiasts in these forums have traveled to the Cape or the Simpson Desert with petrol powered vehicles, the reason being i like the extra power of the petrol but most need a tanker near by for the long hauls. :?: :?: :?:

Here come the Patrol lovers. :D

You will also need to install a part time 4WD drive kit in the transfer case.

The Standard (barn door) 80's are all part time 4wd. Marks Adaptors do a part ime kit for 80's, replaces the centre diff in the transfer case

Vinyl seats and rubber floor mats are great with kids and dogs. Chuck the front seats, tho'. I've had mine 7 years now - can't kill it
