Outer Limits 4x4 Board

When i drove through some water in my 1983 diesel mq patrol she just suddenly turned off and i have not been able to start her since. The car will crank normally but will not start. I have considered water in the motor, but it is reasonably unlikely because of how deep the water was. It was nearly at the top of my tyres. I have worked out that there is no fuel getting to the fuel injectors. Fuel travels all the way from the tank, to the fuel filter to the injector pump, however no fuel will go from the injection pump to the fuel injectors. I am assuming that it has something to do with the fuel cut off solenoid because the injection pump wouldnt immediately go like that, well not that i know of. Can anybody offer any advice?

Sounds like you're fairly certain about your fuel probs, but I had something pretty similar happen once after crossing water too fast, somehow my glow plug relay fuse blew it's undies.
We couldn't work out why it wouldn't start after I drove through the water...it was even cranking over but not starting - until someone checked the glow plug fuse. Might be worth checking mate.

theres a motor that controls the injector pump, it sits below the pump and is linked via a control rod, if you pop the control rod off the control motor - (have to remove a split pin, washer and spring) the injector pump should go to run mode - its spring loaded that way and the stop start motor holds it to stop when you turn the key off.
Long story short remove the rod and try to start it, if it starts pull the little motor off, strip and clean it.
Further to that, if you cycle the key between on and off you should be able to see the little crank on the control motor doing a 360 each time the key is cycled.
