Outer Limits 4x4 Board

my bro in law has just brought a 04 navara duel cab with ifs, hes talking about lifting it and trying to make it a tuff off roader, how much can he do to it to make it a tuff truck or has he brought the wrong car, i thought he should of got a patrol with sold axles

anything is possible, just down to how much $$$ he wants to spend.
btw is it D22 or D40 ?

not sure its a 3ltr desiel, how hi can it be lifted?

its D22 with the infamous ZD30 motor.

basic lift, add a extra rear leaf or change rear leaves and adjust torsions to suit, which is fairly common as they are soft as butter and probably sagging already.

theres 3"+ kits which involve changing front arms etc.
max height ?? how fat is your wallet

on that navara site a few guys have SFA conversions.
one problem is they stretch transfer chains. there is stronger ones around tho.
IFS front diff is quite weak but you can swap in a stronger diff.
crawlers gears are available.

certainly patrols are an easier base to work from. everything is stronger on them.

What does he consider Tuff?
What mods does he have in mind?

definetely need some money put into them to make them tuff.
