Anyone help me out with how to get a proper locating point put into my car for a child seat restraint??
Where/who do I call to either get one installed or buy parts to install myself?? I've got a friends young fella coming with us on the trip up to Tuff Truck this weekend and need it asap.
There was a point bolted through the floor just behind the rear seat about 8yrs ago when I first bought the car but I'd be stuffed if I think I even kept it back then.
Cheers

Should be one in the back rest of your back seats.

Not to my knowledge, I've pulled those rear seat in and out quite a few times and not found any anchor points, even when I pulled all the carpet out.

Mine are in the floor roughly half way between the seat upright and the start of the wheel archs. Speak to RACQ they keep this info....

I know I already have a hole where the restraint mount was bolted in before, so if I can find a place that sells them, I will be able to fit the bolt/restraining anchor myself.
Anyone help where I can buy these from??

My old 60 had a bar bolted from side to side just behind the back seat and you could anchor 3 restraints from it. Was a proper engineered bar.

You can get the ancor from super cheap and the extension straps too.
I had the bar put in my Middy as there are no ancor points in them it was about $300 fitted and it was a place in Blacktown that did it can't think of the name of it.

If it is not fitted in the rear of the seat (backrest part) then it is not legal to fit them to the floor. You have to have a crab bar fitted for it to be legal or change the rear seat. The issue is that the rear of the seat is not strong enough and will compress downwards (towards the floor) in the event of an accident if the belt is fitted to the floor. The anchor point etc is strong enough but the seat is not.
