can any one tell me a good shock setup for a 95 leaf spring zook with 2inch springs with 2inch extended shackles on front and 2inch springs with dropshackles on rear, and is there any sorta problems with this setup or how can improve it?

ruf ( rears up front ) is a good start and vs commodore wagon rear shocks in the front work well but may need a small bumpstop extension

2'' springs in the rear with drop shackles will
need alot longer shocks. This will require a custom
shock mount fabricated
IMO the drop shackles are useless but each to there own.

I run this setup without the drop shackles and I'm very happy with. t'It flexes well and rides nicely.

the commodore and hilux shocks, is everyone getting that to save money. or they are a better setup than spending money with the likes of arb on named shockies??
for a simple sierra i mean, not mine

arb wanted about 120 or so a shock from memory whereas the commy/hilux n hiace shocks were 36 each so that was my reasoning. But it sort of backfired as i went through a set of them before bothering to make bumpstop extensions

ended up with 50mm extension on front and 40mm on rear and while i think it firmed up the road ride and maybe helped it handle a little it did make it a bit stiff in the bush and bounce with minimal traction climbong hills.that was my thoughts anyways

bluemax shocks in my zuk - SPOA on hilux fronts all round - however i do have shock hoops up front and a new crossmember in the rear for the rear shocks - but theyre are made for the sierra - ie: theyre valved correctly.

Mines passed the dreaded lane change test too.

vs commy wagon rears up front in your suzuki. But in saying this i got the same part, same number from the book on two different occasions and got two slightly different shocks.1st set only needed 1" bumpstop spacer,2nd set needed 40mm so put in 50mm.

then on the rear i think most use hiace but i stuffed up and got 88-97ish 2wd hilux shocks which in the book are slightly longer so.....

have alook around on auszookers mate, heaps of people run them including me and theres a heap of info here and on there.
