HILUX HELP.extended shackles or bodylift

hi pretty new to moding 4x4's could do with another opinion or 20
i'm about to put ome 2" springs into my leaf spring all round rn105 single cab, but i'm looking for a bit of extra height. not sure if body lift or extended shackles are the best. also if anyone could give me any extra advice when doing either of these mods. ie do i need any other parts ie drag link, diff relocation plates etc

What do you want the extra height for?, if its just for looks its up to u.
Extended shackles are for using longer springs and retaining a near enough 45 degree shackle angle, but still giving an inch or so lift.
Body lift would be the go, adding extended shackles will make the ride rougher, as the shackle will not take any of the bumps out of the springs.
My honest opinion is, you don't need 4inch of lift.
Dropped drag link shouldn't be needed.
Diff relocation plates are to move the diff foward and/or back which you will not need unless your running bigger tyres, a shaft spacer would be needed to correct the slip joint with that though.

To add to what Berad has already said, extended shackles are illegal, if the fuzz see them, expect a defect for them.
Id go with the body lift for that reason.

my extended shackles are on my engineers report and it passed for blue slip with them on.
Mine are painted black though and dont stand out.
extended shackles on standard springs will make the ride harsh as they will be vertical.

Is it worth paying for an engineer's report for a useless mod though, unless your upgrading springs and/or modplating other mods, although good to know they can be engineered, it'll be the day they mod plate them in QLD haha

i want to get 33's under the lux but cant with the current lift.
i already have about 2" but they are cheap springs and never really gave a good ride + now i have removed my cage and canopy set up the springs are too firm. i used the wrong term when i said diff relocation plates i meant the wedges to improve tail shaft angle.
so it looks like extended shackles are out of the question as i'm trying to get away from a harsh ride. besides the actual spacers and hardware what else would need to be modded to fit a body lift. the things i can think of are: possible gearstick mods and modding bullbar and scrub bar brackets.

When I fitted my BL, I had to trim around the gearstick/hi-lo selector, and the fan shroud had to be trimmed.
I also fitted extended brake lines, most people say you dont need to for a BL, rather be safe then sorry, The metal lines that run from the clutch and brake fluid resovoirs will need to be unwound so they are long enough too.
You might need to fit a longer fuel filler hose, mine just scraped it in.
With a solid axle hilux, they are a good height to work with, so you should be able to get 33s under without a lift(I was running no lift and 31s, now I have a 2inchBL and 35s).
Theres alot of really useful info in the toyota section, do a search on bodylifts.
Just make sure you buy hitensile bolts for the bodylift.

Just trim the guards to make the tyres fit.
