i dont know too much about injector pumps but i think you might have to spend a bit of money on it in a injector shop and get a $2 seal fixed.. my 2.8 injector pump leakes on the outside bit and makes the car a barstard to start in the morning.. just keep turning over and over, cos air gets in where fuel get out and creates air locks in the line, they said it was only just leaking and try to use crappy diesel fuel cos they can seal up again apparantly
hasnt really worked for me..

Fuel screw seal is an O ring and easy but top cover shaft seal I paid to have done cost me $110 a few years ago
These are the usual 2 culprits. cleant it first and see where its coming from.

You can replace the external leaking seals but the internal ones will go soon after so it's best to do it right the first time.
remove and fit the pump yourself. It's a 1 banana job. you'll save probably 700 or so in labor there. You should get away with a pump repair for about 500 to 1000 depending on how worn the internal parts are.
It's leaking because the sulfur content of diesel was significantly reduced around 2007. It was decided it wouldn't be a major issue for the transport issue as the majority of fleets today are running 2000+ model vehicles, or in the case of older trucks, had already had pump rebuilds in the past.
Unfortunately leaves the gap there of private, old light comercials that have never had the pump touched but of course the government doesn't care about the little person
