80 Ute / rear suspension after the chop

Hey guys,

I tried to find who I was talking to about this in here earlier but search is out for me.

I need to find out who's played around with the rear suspension - coils after a single/extra cab chop. I'd like to know what you ended up running in terms of rate and height and if it was necessary to change all coils or just the rear?

Some info for you, I have a 6" suspension kit in mine at the moment no BL, keeping in mind it's a 6y.o kit which has settled a bit. As expected it's got very little softness now, much like a shopping trolley. The back end roughly sits 2" higher than the front.

(If someone can bring up the main 80 ute thread I'd be grateful.)

After i cut mine i just put a set of 4" dobsions in it and it sits pretty good...

I did cut the begeezus outta the rear shock mounts tho and moved them up around 200mm and put some 1m long shocks in, some coil retainers and moved all my arms up on the diff end so that i got my wheel base back.. flexes like a champ now..

For scale its running 37's

Thanks for that cranky, good to see some flex in there. Did you replace the front coils or was there no need?

When i cut it into a ute i lowered it to 4" and I did tell shane from Suspension Stuff that it was now a ute, but im pretty sure they are just the run of the mill 4" dobinsons... they werent special part numbers or anything
