Pyro playing up

Post by baggers »

I've got a cheap digital Pyro in my GQ, post turbo, has worked fine until I just had the body lift removed and as it was off the road a few days the battery also went dead.

Now car is running fine, but Pyro reads about 120deg less than what it used to on the same roads! Body lift was only 2 inches, couldn't think that's it, and the sensor is fine and was not knocked.

Would the battery reset stuff up the gauge?

Cheers,

Baggers

Which gauge is it? Flat battery shouldn't harm it, it loses power every time the key is off?

Sure you're not driving like a sissy now?

Yeah it does lose power I guess when the car is off. It has a few buttons on it, but I think they're just for the alarm though, as I have no manual for the gauge.

Sissy thought is a possible explanation...

Check diesel hose to engine is not crimped after moving body and restricting fuel flow.

120F or 120C ?
WIth the body lowered the wind resistance of the vehicle would have decreased quite a bit.
And a 45c drop in EGT would not be that unusual..
I could see a significant difference in the the EGT if I was doing 100 up a hill as a lead vehicle or if i was in behind something big (truck)
That motor was kiinda high strung though.

What brand? do they have a manual on their web site?

with the power off could it have reverted to deg c from deg f or something?

I would be checking their is not some factory preset thats come back into play.

the fuel line crimping is a good thought though. does it feel down on power?

I would be suprised if the added wind resistance would do it from a 2 inch body lift.

Yep spot on, there was a factory preset that it's gone back to, have to re-caliberate it back to 0 degrees in iced water it says in the manual that was on their website.

Thanks
