timing belt

does anyone reckon that if the timing belt rips the teeth off between the fuel pump and the crank that their is a major problem or just a matter off putting on a new belt.the motor still winds over and it dosen't seem like any thing is locked up

What sort of motor.

Some are designed that the piston will not impact the valves and some will.

its a 92 land cruiser Ute non turbo . its my brothers Ute and we hoping that the timing belt was just old cause he hasn't changed it before and he's prob done about 150-200,000 since he got it

they pulled the rocker cover off and the cam is in 2 pieces valves all smashed up and that is all i know at this stage
