Im going to do a complete fluids change, and just have some simple questions first.

1) What type/grade of Automatic transmission oil is required? what is the rough capacity?
2) What is your cooling system flush technique? Is there a certain way to bleed out any air?
3) what grade of oil is reccomended for the transfer case?

At the moment, the gearbox dipstick is showing waaay over full. Im not sure if its an inaccurate reading (oil in the stick tube) or if its actually that full. If it is that full, can any harm be done until i get a chance to drop the oil, and re-fill?

Thanks
Mike

From what I can find on google, it's dexron3 for the auto. Although some use a gear oil.

And with the transfer, some people use the automatic oil in here as well. And again, others just use gear oil also!

My auto appears to have gear oil in it at the moment, it's not red.

a workshop manual is on my list of things to get.

I just thought at least one patrol owner might change their own oils!
