they are a great motor.

if on gas watch out for overheating, or smoke on startup/running (particually cold starting)

check if there's been any head work done.

also check if the petrol system works proper too, if you think you will ever run it on petrol. It can be expensive and tricky to fix.

Smoke on start up?

What colour and whats it indicating?

Mine blows a little cloud of black smoke on start up (on LPG) seems to be when it cuts over the LPG from Petrol (during starting)

black smoke indicates fuel..

just watch for blueish/white smoke...

I was thinking blue smoke which would indicate oil burning. gas runs dry compared to petrol and relies on a shonky drip system to lubricate the valve system. blue smoke on startup, after its been left a while would indicate worn valve stem seals. There could of course be other warn parts in the head which is why i suggest finding out if there has been head work done.

Yeah they are a very good motor, very strong and have enough power. I just got mine put on gas and am very happy, gotta love the $$$ savings running on gas.
I have been told to be wary of high km motors that have been running on lpg for a while.
