One like the custom hilux ones won't hold the wieght of the cruiser. So don't waste ya money. Maybe a drum style one like the old cruisers had.

i have the same problem hand brake needs adjusting way to much
maybe hydrolic lock on the brake pedal like in a old jeep could work
i have looked at it . it could be done or just keep adjusting it weekly

Check out this setup. Scroll down the page a bit.

HUGE money though. I have been collecting the parts to build my own but have not started on it yet.

I would think with a little thought a small hydraulic caliper from a suitable donor vehicle (maybe a Hyundia?) and a suitable balanced and machined disc to go between the gerabox outlet flange and the drive shaft flange might work quite well. Just need a lever in the cab that runs a small master cylinder. The only issue I can think of is perhaps it may tend to shear the bolts that hold all three together because they are now holding three seperate plates. May not be an issue though.

Maybe something I will investigate in coming months.

Cheers

Hydraulic will work, but wont be legal. Park/Hand brakes must be mechanical

Here is mine on my 80.

Give Wes a call from from Agro automotive. He may help you out.

Tried the drum style from a GQ. There was physically not enough room.

Mine is the first one made so it is still a works in progress. IT did hols on a very steeo driveway although the handbrake was really pulled on.

Wes reckons with different pad materials he may be able to get it to work better.
