hello all i have a GQ TD42 5 speed with a funny clutch.........it all started the other day when the clutch pedal started to feel funny like it was letting the clutch engage to early when removing my foot from the pedal. Then the other day i couldn't get gears when i started it up so i bled it and it worked as it did before with the engaging to early fell. But now its starting to feel like its slipping and for some reason it seemed to do it worse when i went round a corner in 3, so i took it back home and felt that the clutch fork moves around heaps and it pushes the pin in on the slave cylinder? there is no mud or shit in the bell housing.. it feels like when you change gears it slips a bit when you let it out but not when its under load does anyone have any ideas??????????????

Sounds very much like a stuffed clutch friction/pressure plate. So it's a gearbox out job. Should be a fun weekend for ya.

try with replacing your slave cylinder first you may find that is the problem. Try it as a cheap solution first before taking the box out to find that your clutch is fine.

I reckon i have a similar problem and got me stuffed what it is, my clutch will be fine 90% of the time, then the pedal with go hard and feel like the clutch is already half dis-engaged yet the pedal comes up to the same height? If i load it up slightly it will slip and if i just touch the clutch pedal only 15mm or so its completly disengaged. Then for no reason it will come good again,
Ive had the slave replaced and booster rebuilt as i took it to someone who thought they had heard of this before, yet not long after getting it back it started doing it again, Ive since pulled my motor out and now my clutch plate is burnt out.
Just gone and bought a new master cylinder and probably a new clutch.
But anyideas on this problem for me also would be a great help..
Cheers
