Hey all,

We are currently looking for new tyres for the Paj and were looking at BFG's AT tyre. The size was a 265/75 and apparently one of dad's mates said that there will be a big difference in the speedo with the BFG's. It currently has 265/70 on it at the moment. IS there really gonna be a HUGE difference in the speedo?? Also is $250 a tyre a good price for the BFG's and we were also lookin at a set of Coopers for the same price in a 265/70 size?

Very good article here on speedo re-calibration :-

As for the BFG's I would have thought that was on the high side but pretty close.

Hi,

the difference in speedo readings between 265/70 and 265/75 will be minimal, I run them as my street tyres and find the speedo is spot on (according to my GPS) with the 265/75. You will probably find with the standard 265/70 that your speedo is reading slightly high, which seems to be the factory way of protecting you from speeding fines. I have a personal preference for BFG's (4 sets so far with no problems), and $250 seems to be around the asking price, but shop around before buying.

Hey all,

Thanks for the replies fellas. ATM the speedo is 3km/h over. So basically the slight increase in height should fix the speedo up.

My speedo now reads spot on according to the GPS after moving from 265/70 to 265/75.
