Hi ya, ive just stuck my 32 inch pedes back on after about 2 years running on the blacktop with goodyears mtr's (great tire for road btw, done 60K on em and they got at least 40K left in em)

anyways, bit of a shimmy when it hits bumps etc, so took it to align/balance, and its no better. Ripped off the hub, and did up wheel bearings (were tight as anyhows), so now iam think whats next to remove the shimmy.

The steering damper on there is original, so about 25 years old, could that be the drama?

cheers
and what would you recommend for an MK?

also, just a quick question, what PSI should i be running the pedes on the blacktop?

Vanne, check your damper, just pull one end off and see what its like, should have a fair amount of resistance. Dampers only cover the real prob. Could also be loose king pins, or if using extended shackles and castor may need adjusting. Jack up and drop the tie rod ends off the knuckles and turn the wheel and feel for any notches and looseness

Went through all this with mine, did kings pin as were buggered. Has very long shackles and custom spring packs. So wacked in some 5 deg castor wedges and all sweet on 35's. Front shaft angle is now not right due to wedges.
